Summary	The NPS Beam Physics Laboratory will perform basic research on the technologies relevant to the Office of Naval Research Directed Energy Program. Cathodes, injectors, accelerators and free electron lasers (FEL's) are all being studied in support of industry and the ONR FEL innovative Naval Prototype program. The development of superconducting FEL components and the characterization of the quarter-wave injector are highlights of the program.
