Summary |
Research supporting the HSIN-CS ADA portal incorporating research from previous MIST events, usability heuristics, content sorting tools, and interviews, MIST will create a usability and content plan for the HSIN-CS ADA information portal. The goal is to provide a framework for delivering informational value to public and private sector professionals. The cost for researching stakeholder requirements and developing a usability and content plan is $35,000.00. Background The HSIN-CS ADA portal is designed as a one stop source for airport security information. Two of the key intended users of this web site are local law enforcement and private sector security professionals. MIST research with these stakeholders indicates that HSIN and many other information sharing systems do not provide enough value and are often difficult to access and use. This leads to low levels of adoption and difficulties in sustaining the information system. To mitigate this risk, we will identify metrics for site success, create a viable test plan for measuring site usability, research sources of useful on-line information, and make recommendations for improving the overall taxonomy. The goal is to make the content useful and easy to find and use. |
