Summary | The objective of this research program is to support SMC/R&D in research activities for acquisition, tracking, pointing, and beam control. Under this project, performance of an inertial reference unit developed by Applied Technology Associates (ATA) will be characterized at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Jitter Control Testbed. The NPS Jitter Control Testbed will be upgraded to incorporate the inertial reference unit and additional passive and active optics, real-time control algorithms will be developed and implemented, and experiments will be performed to test laser tracking and jitter control performance. |
