Summary In this continuing effort, we will further develop the passive coherent location processing algorithm to develop a method of predicting the optimal location of passive, non-monostatic radar system receivers. We refine the MATLAB models of their coverage areas that allow determination of optimal target detection capability and determine where detection is least likely so be supported by the system - a function of the SNR. Inclusion of the DTEDs database for the area of regard allows a realistic prediction of the receiver locations. Many test cases will be run to determine the sensitivity of the algorithm to the number of transmitters and their location. In addition, the case where one (or more) of the transmit towers is taken out will be evaluated.
In addition, we continue developing (with Pt. Mugu) an optimized jamming route software package capable of running on a tablet allowing the software to be transportable by aircrew. The optimization software will combine five input variables into one inclusive software suite, providing an optimized jamming route and jamming effectiveness numerical analysis to the user. The five inputs are 1) emitter parameters, 2) Passive Coherent Location (PCL) threats, 3) protected asset ingress and egress route, 4) Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED), and 5) jamming capabilities of the ALQ-99 and Next Generation Jammer (NGJ) systems.
