The CORE Lab's Level 2- SNA educational outreach is a seven day, unclassified, in-person learning event designed to familiarize participants with social network analysis (SNA) and associated data collection requirements. This training event creates a structure in which the students are required to meet for seven days of instruction including lectures, software demonstrations, lab sessions, and question & answer sessions for SNA. The participants are also required to read academic-level articles as homework, contribute to discussions, and complete a guided final project in order to attain the CORE Lab's Level-2 certification. This training will take place at a location TBD in El Paso, TX and is tentatively planned for 19-27 April 2016. Topics: The Level 2-SNA educational outreach will provide the analyst with an understanding of how to illuminate important facets of dark networks through exposure to SNA theory and hands-on application. Specifically, the interactive Level 2 SNA training covers the following: basic SNA theory, an introduction to SNA application, relational data preparation, and network visualization and manipulation techniques. Students will also learn about the four SNA metric families; network topography, centrality, cohesive subgroups, and brokers & bridges |
