Summary |
In support of ONR's Statement of Work from the FY13 Operational Energy Capabilities improvement Fund (OECIF) Proposal, NPS will coordinate activities and identify and develop energy related coursework, which will aid practitioners and decision makers, as they incorporate the evaluation of energy concepts into operational planning and war gaming. ONR has proposed to support OSD's OECIF call for proposals, with a project entitled "Energy-Efficient Outpost Modeling Consortium," which has 3 pillars: 1. Energy Resource Planning Tool - ONR will develop a modeling tool to determine optimal mix of power sources for a given operational scenarios. This tool will simplify complex choices and provide recommendations for operational energy planners. 2. Energy Resource Dashboard - To provide outpost commanders a real-time picture of energy resources through a dashboard 'app'. 3. Energy Efficient Education - Work with the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), the service academics, and other stakeholders involved in Education and Training across the DoD to develop coursework, which will incorporate the evaluation of energy concepts into operational planning and war gaming. |
