Summary The degree to which M&S is successfully employed within DoD is dependent on the M&S knowledge and the experience of the workforce. While conservative estimates of the cost savings of having a well-informed workforce place the value in savings of $20M/year for each $1B spent annually on M&S, the costs of incorrect decisions based on faulty M&S can be equally significant. The deficiencies in the M&S body of knowledge will continue to rise as systems and platforms increase in complexity. Dedicated educational programs and curricula are needed to allow the workforce to stay abreast of the technology and apply it with credibility. The tasking outlined in this SOW combined with related projects at NPS provides a solution to this need.
