Summary | NPS will support the study design, data collection, statistical analysis and interpretation for the fatigue and sleep portions of the Surgery at Sea (SaS) project. The NPS project will directly involve three senior scientists and associated support staff. Two senior scientists will be ship riders/data collectors for the entire underway period. (One is a physician/scientist while one is experienced in sleep and actigraphy. Both are subject matter experts in the area of motion sickness and sopite syndrome.) The NPS team will collaborate with other investigative partners on the SaS team to examine the impact of shipboard motion on the performance, fatigue and sleep of members of the surgical team. |
