Summary This five day course provides participants with an examination of defense acquisition and program management, with particular focus on the management of complex defense projects. Instructors will discuss life cycle cost management, project management best practices and lessons learned during the planning, implementation and operations and support phases. Significant classroom time is devoted to the practical application of these concepts to real world scenarios through small group discussions and working group exercises. Background readings will be provided to amplify topics discussed and serve as a resource for participants. Improvement of defense acquisition management systems in the participant nation will enhance the U.S. Government’s security sector objectives at the national and regional level. Additionally, this course will help build the intellectual capital of the Naval Postgraduate School faculty and students confirmed to support this effort. This course will be conducted in accordance with NETSAFA established MASL P309131, as concurred and approved by the Colombia country team, SOUTHCOM, NETSAFA, and DSCA.
