|Sponsor||Office of the Secretary of Defense, Rapid Reaction Technology Office (DoD)|
This effort is comprised of separate focused tasks that accomplish technology development, government oversight, warfighter engagement, rapid transition, program management, execution and teaching of advanced technologies for Naval Special Warfare (NSW) and their joint partners in other Special Operations Component Commands, Submarine Forces, OPNAV N97/Undersea Warfare Office, U.S. Pacific Fleet, other fleets, and Naval Research Lab. Commands included MARSOC (Marine Special Forces Command), USASOC (U.S. Army Special Forces Command), AFSOC (Air Force Special Operations Command), and JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command) and Theater Special Operations Commands.
Projects may involve interagency partnerships with organizations such as NASA, DARPA, NRO, NGA, NSA, DIA, and/or other members of the intelligence communities. Advanced technologies will advance combat effectiveness for Navy and partner commands/agencies. Products include technology development, CONOPs, prototypes and pilot programs supporting special operations, counter terrorism, undersea and surface naval communications, in some cases in Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2AD) environments. The PI will investigate, identify, evaluate and integrate classified and unclassified advanced concepts, field experimentation, operational demonstrations and collections, and technology solutions, for countering, violent extremism, with a focus on Special Forces Commands, partnering with Naval, intelligence, Administrator, and Associate Administrators for Exploration and Operations and Technology.
Most of the tasks support and are resourced by Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Emerging Capabilities and Prototyping (OASD EC&P) Rapid Reaction Technology Office (RRTO).
