Summary | Research will combine three areas of interdisciplinary study to identify potential vulnerabilities of USNS ships in order to minimize operational risk and optimize resources in large area logistics missions. This study is being undertaken to assist Commander Logistics Force Western Pacific in understanding vulnerabilities in a supply chain that include USNS ships, operating companies, civilian military unions, and a large contracting footprint in order to minimize operational risk to mission, optimize logistics resources and operations, while maintaining C2 of operational forces. Study will include OR Red Teaming of current practices and distributed lethality logistics; optimized routing; impact of reliability, availability, and maintainability on readiness; and, social network analysis of maritime logistics network in WestPac. |
