Summary | Operate high frequency (HF) radar ocean current monitoring stations in the region between Point Sur and Pescadero," California in support of the Central and Northern California Ocean Observing System (CeNCOOS). Specific goals include maintaining real-time data flow from 9 HF radar units, collecting and archiving raw spectral data on a monthly basis from each radar station, and spot-checking radial current data products for quality compared with long-term ocean conditions in the region. Other quality control flags based on raw spectral data characteristics will also be monitored. Radar sites with routine maintenance requirements, such as corroded antenna cables, will be repaired. Major component failures will be identified. |
