Summary This research addresses energy storage in power systems. The Naval Postgraduate School will research an intelligent microkernel, which restructures and adapts its inner workings to match the physics of physical equipment and physical processes, with the objective of safely collecting high-accuracy security monitoring data at high speed, as well as executing fast agile responses against malware on the ICS with surgical accuracy. It will also research how to leverage the physics-driven architecture of the microkernel to create physics-compliant and ICS-specific cyber decoys along with decoy physical equipment and decoy physics.
