Summary | U.S. Navy is investing in small, reconfigurable ships intended for operations close to shore. These Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) are fast, maneuverable and due to the modular design, can be modified to perform roles such as anti-submarine warfare, mine sweeping, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. This project will explore the strategies, policy, tactics and technologies needed to make this new class of ship most effective. |
