Summary |
It is expected that the topics will demand a variety of archival research methods, normally used by management faculty. Other archival methods are more likely found in operations research or information technology groups. The sequencing of the tasks have been decided based on discussions between Naval Supply Systems Command staff and the co-principal investigators. The project team will include other NPS faculty and NPS students as appropriate. The project team will deliver products that address at least three issues by the end of the calendar year and have the analysis of three additional topics underway. The funding of $100k will provide the support for the project team to complete four deliverable due before December 2016. During the course of the project the principal investigator will maintain on-going contact with Naval Supply Systems Command staff. Some form of meeting (e.g., face-to-face, VTC, conference call) will be scheduled at least once a month between the principal investigators and/or NPS faculty and students engaged in the projects and NAVSUP staff. The following studies will be delivered at the specified dates: July 2016: Supply Chain Management Optimization of Assets (NAVSUP HQ) June 2016: Investigate the validity Comprehensive Inventory Management Improvement Plan (CIMIP)'s forecast accuracy metric (NAVSUP WSS) January 2017: Compete backorders (NAVSUP WSS Philadelphia) |
