We propose to upgrade our existing SRC-6 model 18.104.22.168.0 reconfigurable computer to a model 22.214.171.124.4 by adding a 16-port Hi-Bar switch and 8 Gbytes of common memory.
We propose to continue our current effort of implementing ELINT and SIGINT applications on the SRC-6, concentrating on real time and near real time signal processing using the MAP GPIO ports. Specifically, we will continue our effort to port algorithms for automatic detection and classification of low probability of intercept (LPI) emitters. The automatic detection and classification of LPI emitters is of critical importance to the Department of Defense as more and more potential adversaries deploy LPI sensor and communications technology.
We propose to continue to investigate the implementation of various different algorithms of interest on the SRC-6 and the SRC MAPstation in our SCIF. The specific algorithms currently being worked on include CRAW, trimmed-tree searches to produce classes of de Bruijn sequences, and kissing m-sequences, an idea to produce generators of an m-sequence from several stretches of split polybits.
We propose to investigate NFGs and to develop macros for the SRC reconfigurable computer to implement the NFGs based on a polynomial approximation approach. These macros will then be made available to the sponsor.
