Summary The Business Innovation Initiative (BII) MMOWGLI game is for Navy and industry professionals exploring incentives and motivations on how to best improve the Navy's new Open Systems Architecture (OSA) Strategy. Round 3 will focus on Intellectual Property (IP) Valuation to help determine potential alternatives regarding how the best contract terms might be found to protect Navy interests and support industry competition. The Massive Multiplayer Online War Game Leveraging the Internet (MMOWGLI) is a Web-based idea-exploration game that encourages innovative thinking about some of the world's most wicked problems. MMOWGLI is designed to support large number of distributed global players working together on idea generation and action planning, with an eye towards surfacing innovative outlier strategies. For the BII challenges at hand, we need to better understand multiple competing opportunities and identify effective paths forward. Broad collaboration using MMOWGLI to conduct brainstorming of new ideas and generating action-plan alternatives is expected to be essential for charting the way ahead for this major initiative for the Navy acquisition community working together with industry counterparts. This project is being pursued in partnership with partial matching support by the Office of Naval Research (ONR).
