Summary |
The project would consist of identification of individual metamaterial components, literature review, finite element modeling and building of a metamaterial absorber at a resonant microwave frequency. A simple, proof-of-concept sensor would be fabricated to test the feasibility of building bolometer arrays. Issues to be addressed are - Literature review of power levels of high-power energy weapons - Prototype single sensor - Laboratory simulation of microwave attack - Experimental measurements of signal-sensor interaction - Finite element model of signal-sensor interaction - Using obtained results to study feasibility of building integrated system of multiple bolometers |
