Summary | This proposal is for funding to evaluate the hypothesis the high-angle boundaries form from the interface between blocks or bands having lattice orientations that are variant of characteristic shear texture components during SPD by Equi-Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP). The influence of alloy constitution, ECAP processing parameters and stability of microstructures during post processing annealing will also be evaluated. Mechanical testing will provide data to assess the roles of grain refinement by ECAP and alloy constitution on properties. |
