Summary | This effort aims to analyze and optimize the structure of MEMS fuze component. Specifically, the analysis will include arming motors, slider and setback lock and will include both finite element modeling and experimental characterization. For the arming motor, the model will try to maximize the output force while minimizing the energy consumption. In the case of slider and setback lock, we will model the existing structures to identify weak points and validate proposed changes with experimental shock testing. Once the model is verified with experimental measurements, we will attempt to optimize the structural design in order to improve the shock survivability for both components. |
