This task is to provide engineering and technical support lo the NASA Engineering and Safety Center, Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Technical Fellow and the various activities of the Technical Discipline Team. The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Control and Optimization Laboratories possess unique capabilities for spacecraft GN&C engineering and technology. Membership of the NPS on the GN&C TDT will provide NESC with a new and excellent source of guidance. navigation. and control engineering support sharing its GN&C know-how and lessons learned with the NESC. Technical participation and support from the NPS representative is needed to augment the existing core membership of the current NESC GN&C TDT and to generally support routine NESC GN&C TDT operations. The NPS representative will serve as a core member of the NESC GN&C TDT. The NPS representative will participate in GN&C TDT teleconferences, face-to-face (F2F) TDT meetings, and other TDT meetings and teleconferences as requested by the NASA GN&C Technical fellow. The NASA GN&C Technical fellow will directly task the NPS representative to provide GN&C subject matter technical expertise and engineering support in support of routine TDT activities. These routine activities will include the performance of short "Quick Look" technical reviews and more formal NESC Initial Evaluations. |
