Summary | The objective of this DTRA sponsored research is to explore efficient nuclear materials of concern (NMOC) wide area search (WAS) techniques. The primary task is to explore the most efficient ways to search for NMOC that are out of government control in a wide area such as a stadium, city block or entire city. The study will optimize resources including UxV systems by simulations employing various nuclear radiation detection, locating, and identification techniques. Our approach will be based on a series of field experiments and table top exercises leveraging expert reachback SMEs, to determine optimal WAS techniques. |
