Summary | The objective is to explore efficient Wide Area Search (WAS) techniques for nuclear material. The primary task is to explore the most efficient ways to search for missing NMOC (Nuclear Material of Concern) in a wide area such as a large city and/or several counties, which may include a maritime area. The study will optimize resources by employing Remote Advise and Assist (RAA) area search, nuclear detection wide area networking, and computer simulations combined with social media and social networking analysis. The overall approach to the study will be based on a series of field experiments and table top exercises leveraging expert reachback, augmenting the optimal WAS. |
