Summary We propose methods of examining whether earlier analysis of the Global Assessment Tool (GAT) can be improved by acknowledging that GAT scores are not independent, but rather, in many cases, consist of the same soldier answering multiple times. We expect to see increased resilience across time as soldiers age, but the nature and extent of this increase – or whether it exists at all – is yet to be seen. A second thrust of the research will look at GAT 2, since the data from the physical portion of the new survey has not been the subject of much analysis.
