Summary |
This Mobile Education Team (MET) course will be funded by Foreign Military Financing (FMF) as programmed by the Naval Education Training Security Assistance Field Activity (NETSAFA). The course’s MASL number is P319177. The Center for Civil-Military Relations Maritime Security Program at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California educates authorized allied military officers and civilian equivalents. CCMR and NPS provide graduate level executive and continuing education programs that support intellectual innovation and growth throughout the careers of the total force. The Maritime Security program provide participants with the tools, techniques, and skills to enhance defense planning, management and organization of their armed forces and defense institutions. The Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia’s Office of Defense Cooperation requested this five-day mobile course. This will be the first MDA course in Jakarta for 2018. This course is in support of the U.S. Secretary of Defense’s Maritime Security Initiative (MSI) for Southeast Asian countries. It is fully supported by the U.S. Pacific Command and Commander, Pacific Fleet, the Executive Agent for the MSI program. CAPT Tim Doorey, USN (Ret.), CCMR’s Maritime Security Program Manager, will develop and execute a series of courses for mid-to-senior level Indonesia defense officials that address: 1) Human capital development; 2) Training and Education requirements; 3) A whole of government and regional approach to Maritime Domain Awareness. |
