Summary |
The Center for Interdisciplinary Remotely Piloted Aircraft Studies (CIRPAS) was established by the Office of Naval Research in the spring of 1996 to provide aircraft flight services to the research, development, test, and evaluation communities. The facility's capabilities have expanded to include military training exercises and operational demonstrations. The CIRPAS prime contractor is Zivko operating under (N00244-10-C-0023). In 1998, CIRPAS established a satellite facility at McMillan Airfield, at Camp Roberts, CA. McMillan Airfield provides the Center with a base of operations for UAV flight activities. This Statement of Work documents specific tasks to be performed by NPS/CIRPAS, through its prime contractor Zivko, in support of Stark Aerospace's Flight Testing. Stark Aerospace is developing a new UAS, the airframe is new, and it's not a derivative of any current designs. The goal of their flight testing is to characterize the systems performance and capabilities. Stark Aerospace will use CIRPAS facility in two phases; the first phase would be without the EO payload installed and would focus on air vehicle performance and controls. The second phase would follow immediately afterwards and would include the EO payload and focus on total system performance. CIRPAS will provide facility and personnel support. |
