Summary | This is a two year research effort to conduct applied research and experimentation into the suitability and potential maritime based applications of a thermal imaging optical radar for the US Navy to use for critical infrastructure protection and other critical infrastructure of interest to COCOM's including port and ship based environments. Research will include utilization and applicability of advanced thermal imaging optical radar to detect, identify and track maritime and land vessels within the Port of Hueneme Commercial and Military port as well as the NAVSEA Self Defense Test Ship. Experimentation will be conducted to evaluate applicability of technology and systems in real-world operations and to further define the concept of operations within a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional environment. |
