Summary |
Deployed Integrated Warfare Systems, including the AEGIS Air-Defense System, the Shipboard Self-Defense System (SSDS), and various gun, missile, sensing and targeting systems, are essential to the deployability and survivability of U.S. and Allied fleets. The defensive umbrella provided by AEGIS in the theater ballistic missile defense mission frequently extends far beyond the ships, to areas of interest around the globe, to include allied nations and the U.S. Homeland. Numerous topics for applied operations research have been identified by PEAO-IWS as appropriate for study by NPS students and faculty. The objective of the project is to assist PEO-IWS with identified topic areas, provided to NPS on a periodic basis by the PEO-IWS sponsor point of contact. The PI will coordinate NPS OR faculty and student research, to include class projects, enrichment week workshops, theses, dissertations and technical reports as appropriate focused on PEO-IWS research areas. |
