Summary |
Our project seeks to generate enhanced situational awareness of emerging threats through newly developed techniques for sentiment analysis, machine translation, and automated detection of the sending location of messages sent through the Twitter network, while also pursuing empirical validation of these metrics through spatio-temporal prediction of hostile events. Our research involves no collection of new data, but will instead leverage existing historical archives, to generate new insights concerning aggregate spatial patterns of radicalized discourse and violence. We will also pursue the development of novel approaches to highly parallelized “in memory” computing, to enable visual and analytic fusion of multi-source data at global scales, while also facilitating the convergence of technologies across our communities. |
