Summary | The Navy Level III Financial Management Certification Course (FCC) is an intensive eight-week course in defense financial management and is part of the Department of the Defense FM Certification Program mandated by Congress in the FY12 Defense Authorization Act (PL 112-81). The FCC is specifically designed for DoN senior civilians (GS14/15 level) who are either incumbent or about to report to DoN FM-coded billets in the 500-skill set series. The billets are coded and mapped to Level III FM Certification. The course content aligns to 9 competency areas identified by the sponsor to complete the Level III certification requirements. Level III competencies require significant analysis and practical application in areas such as Decision Support, Budget Formulation, Justification, and Presentation, Budget Execution, Advanced Financial Management. In FY2014, the course is targeted to be offered five times. The course will be delivered via Elluminate and consist of 60 course hours across 8 weeks. |
