Summary |
This proposal is funded through International Military Education and Training (IMET) in accordance with the Naval Education Training Security Assistance Field Activity (NETSAFA) Institute for Security Governance (ISG)- International Defense Acquisition Resource Management (IDARM) Program MASLs P309104 and P309348. ISG-IDARM, located at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California educates authorized allied military officers and civilian equivalents. ISG-IDARM provides graduate level executive and continuing education programs that support intellectual innovation and growth throughout the careers of the total force. ISG-IDARM program offerings provide participants with the tools, techniques, and skills to foster improvements in defense acquisition decision-making within their armed forces and defense institutions. ISG-IDARM will conduct a five day “Managing Complex Defense Projects” Mobile Education Team (MET) in Amman, Jordan during 23-27 June, 2019 and a five day “Logistics and Life Cycle Management” MET in Pristina, Kosovo during 1-5 July, 2019. The course in Jordan will examine defense acquisition and program management, with particular focus on the management of complex defense projects and the course in Kosovo will examine the critical role logistics planning and life cycle considerations play in the defense acquisition and logistics decision making process. In both courses, participants will complete integrated group exercises to apply concepts and methods discussed in the classroom to real world scenarios. Background readings will be provided to amplify topics discussed and serve as a resource for participants. Additionally, these courses will help build the intellectual capital of the Naval Postgraduate School faculty that will support these efforts. ISG-IDARM will send funding to NPS to fund the labor costs for two NPS faculty members to develop and conduct lectures and facilitate student discussions in support of these graduate level short courses. ISG-IDARM has allocated 80H for COL (USA Ret) Raymond for the Jordan MET and 72H for the Kosovo MET. ISG-IDARM has allocated 72H for Dr. Magdi Kamel for the Jordan MET. Amman, Jordan= $25,056 Pristina, Kosovo= $11,708 Total= $36,764 Note: ISG-IDARM will fund travel for NPS faculty via DTS cross org fund cites so this proposal will only include the faculty labor costs and the FY19 NPS 20.8% in-direct processing fee. |
