Back Graduate Level Study of Resistance

Department | Defense Analysis |
Investigator(s) | Lee, Doowan |
Sponsor | Army 1st Special Forces Group (Army) |
Summary | This work entails educating a selected group of Special Forces soldiers on the concept of resistance and unconventional warfare. Currently, 1st SFC (A) or subordinate units do not have the resident expertise at the collegiate level to study or teach the unconventional warfare fundamentals in the human domain. 4th BN formations face a unique challenge in maintaining organizational expertise where they function as the force of choice for generating unconventional warfare options and resistance potential assessments in their respective AORs. NPS provides academic expertise and research experience through the Department of Defense Analysis (DA) that cannot be replicated anywhere else. The DA department provides advanced courses on how to illuminate and map human and social pathways that are leveraged for countering hostile phase-zero activities or for building resistance potential. This fundamental education is required to establish an advanced understanding of resistance potential, actions, and activities of (or against) a state actor in a phase-zero environment. This program will support the overall Jedburgh pipeline by focusing on the conversion and development of human infrastructure toward UW option development. |
