Back Air Force Materiel Command Basic Space Course Provided for Office of Scientific Research Education Support for Southern Command (SOUTHCOM)

Summary A five day short course modeled on SS3011, Space Technologies and Applications will be developed and presented to an audience of International military officers and civilians in response to a request from the Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Office of Scientific Research. The course is intended to establish a baseline level of space understanding to support the International Office of Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR/IO) research and development work with international partners. The course will be taught on-site at the Chilean La Escuela Militar once during the period of performance, at a time mutually agreed upon by AFOSR/IO and NPS.
Topics addressed will include: Why Space / Space Environment / Orbital Mechanics / Mission, Payloads and Satellite Design / Communication Payloads and Budgets / Military and Commercial Space Systems
