Summary | Unmanned systems require ashore and deployed Unmanned Operation Centers (UOC) to support Fleet C2 of UUVs, USVs, and UAVs. UOCs will coordinate fleet maintenance, missions, and operations. This stated effort is in line with the Unmanned Campaign Framework goal of "Ensuring the maintenance, sustainment, basing, and support of unmanned systems is understood and prepared to scale with the fleet." A draft indicates that warfare based UOCs are running out of capacity. An independent and objective assessment of options for UOCs and requirements would provide input to decision makers on manning requirements and program plan development. As a result, UOCs could be steps closer to actual warfare deployment. |
