Summary | This research will look at the current naval logistical concept to determine possible avenues to strengthen the current force, to sustain the logistics operations and to prepare it for a contested and degraded environment. We will investigate how degraded communication could affect the current coordination capabilities of the supply chain and its ability to support our forces in phase 0-2. The uncertainty surrounding the industrial ability to adapt to new demand signals and to the lack of real time demand signals will be investigated. Lastly, we will seek to find new concepts and technology that can be used to mitigate cyber-attacks and subsequent degradation of the communication network that support the supply chain. This research builds on the researchers' current and recent research into in-theater repair, phase II sustainment, HSP in contested environment, fuel logistics, and OPSEC consideration in overseas operations. |
