Summary | Maneuver and rapid response are hallmarks of the U.S. Marine Corps. Logistics, to include responsive resupply, are essential to maintaining the operational tempo of Marine expeditionary forces. New and innovative approaches must be explored in order to meet the sustainment requirements of the Marine Corps Vision and Strategy 2025. In particular, support to highly-distributed squads, platoons, or company landing teams (CLTs) will require highly responsive resupply and provisioning. This research will survey commercial best practices for the use of Group 1-3 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), to include autonomous-capable and provide a system concept and top-level architecture for leveraging advances in UAV systems to support cargo distribution and responsive battlefield resupply. |
