Summary | The main effort will be focused towards an application, where detection of a wire is the objective and a high resolution image is not required so the data processing problem is reduced significantly. The major challenge will be to achieve a high probability of detection without a large number of false alarms. Tradeoffs of the sensor system architecture will be investigated and the system parameters that affect the performance of each architecture will be determined. The objective of this study is to examine possible sensor architectures and perform a first cut simulation of the system tradeoffs to determine their suitability for wire detection. |
