Summary |
The research team will continue to provide study, analysis, modeling and simulation, and use of analytical tools support to assist the Chief of the Army G-8 Force Development Directorate's Warfighting Analysis Division (DAPR-FDA) in the fulfillment of the division's mission. The proposed study focuses on: (1) Providing DAPR-FDA study, analytical, modeling and technical support to develop a discrete event simulation model (DES) which will replicate established Army equipping processing while incorporating primary uncertainties that may affect senior leader equipping decisions. (2) Once a prototype discrete event simulation model is developed, investigate optimizing the simulation or develop a separate optimization model to provide optimal policies as inputs for the discrete event simulation model. (3) Support a student experience tour between the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Operations Research (OR) Department and DAPR-FDA to facilitate the continued development of DEPR-FDA models and analysis techniques. |
