Summary | A modeling environment that provides information in many important Navy and joint studies is the campaign simulation Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM). STORMMiner is a suite of automated post-processing tools that supports analysts in drawing insights from the warfighting interactions in STORM. STORMMiner was recently developed by NPS in collaboration with OPNAV N81. This study will utilize, test, and enhance STORMMiner to expand its usefulness within N81's analysis tool suite. Enhancements may (1) improve data visualization, (2) facilitate sensitivity analysis, (3) assist in identifying and quantifying causal interactions, and (4) help in identifying campaign "breaking points." In addition, since a challenging and time consuming task in building new STORM scenarios is instantiating both U.S. and adversary CONOPS within the modeling environment, a focus will be for NPS thesis students to assess how the capabilities in STORMMiner can be used to assess, suggest, or refine CONOPS. |
