Summary | The US Navy Aviation Energy Conservation (Air ENCON) Program is designed to optimize fuel consumption without adverse implications on either mission objectives or safety. To enhance the optimization of fuel consumption in the aviation community, we propose to develop fleet 'training efficiency' metrics that link squadron fuel consumption to operational Training & Readiness (T&R) outcomes and pilot proficiency. The overall aim is two-fold: (1) the development of alternative metrics for T&R assessing both consumable assets (fuel) and enhancement of pilot proficiency and (2) assessment of hot pit locations in CONUS. |
