Back Support for Persistence and Activity Based Intelligence at NPS
Fiscal Year | 2013 |
Division | Graduate School of Engineering & Applied Science |
Department | Physics |
Investigator(s) | Olsen, Richard C. |
Sponsor | National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (DoD) |
Summary | The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) will provide support to the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) in the realm of research and development for topics related to persistence and Activity Based Intelligence (ABI). Notionally, these efforts will support the integration and adoption of these novel intelligence processes as new systems come on-line. NPS's access to cleared students and professors, novel data sources, and educational remote-sensing resources make them a critical (and unique) member of the GEOINT family. The ability to match NPS-developed algorithms to NPS-educated personnel satisfies a vital capability to supporting the NGA vision of "on-line, on-demand" access to cutting edge geospatial information. Work will include supporting student and faculty research, establishing data networks and integrating analysis tools to get GEOINT level 1-2 (and other) data to the researchers and completed algorithms back into current-generation innovation and acquisition programs. This project will also support two positions for liaison support to the Persistence Integrated Program Office (NGA/TAP) to ensure successful integration of the above activities. |
