Back OSD JGRE Unmanned System Modeling and Simulation in War Games
Fiscal Year | 2015 |
Division | Research & Sponsored Programs |
Department | Modeling, Virtual Environments & Simuation Institute |
Investigator(s) | Blais, Curtis L. |
Sponsor | Office of the Secretary of Defense (DoD) |
Summary | The JGRE seeks to develop a plan for integrating unmanned technologies and platforms (to include autonomous systems) into war games to improve socialization with the warfighter and the development and experimentation of various concepts for employment by the Armed Forces. Currently there are a number of emerging advanced unmanned systems technologies that have the potential for dramatically enhancing the military effectiveness of U.S. forces. JGRE seeks to accelerate the transition of unmanned systems' technology concepts into the field and increase warfighter trust and confidence in autonomous unmanned systems by leveraging modeling and simulation (M&S) in war games. NPS will perform research to investigate integration of current unmanned system representations into selected combat simulations and conduct analysis of unmanned system communications and interoperability issues. |
