Summary	Preliminary work in Phase I will identify research questions for "Self Sufficient Warfighter Study". The proposal objective is to identify and guide the research studies to be carried out by NPS students to inform research and development priorities for technology to increase the self-sufficiency of Marines. This preliminary work will guide the NPS faculty research in Phase II of this vein of research in FY14. The Phase II research will focus on - Characterization of what a Marine needs to be logistically self-sufficient in an expeditionary environment. - Tradeoff analysis for enabling self sufficiency in terms of cost and readiness.
