Back Littoral Oceanography for Mine Warfare
Fiscal Year | 2007 |
Division | Graduate School of Engineering & Applied Science |
Department | Oceanography |
Investigator(s) | Chu, Peter C. |
Sponsor | Naval Oceanographic Office (Navy) |
Summary | The main objectives are to enhance the U.S. Navy's MIW capabilities through determination of periodicity for MIW route surveys including influences by natural forcing functions (storms, climo, etc.) and human activity (i.e., clutter increased by shipping activity, etc.) and development of analogous areas (development of analogous CONUS areas that are environmentally "analogous" to a potential operational area of interest). These CONUS sites would then be useable for more rigorous operational training and evaluation. |
