Summary	At the request of the Office of Naval Research (ONR), this proposal is for assisting Dr. Ellen Livingston, Manager of the ONR Ocean Acoustics Program, in the management of research projects sponsored by her Program. The performance period will begin around 1 July 2005 and will consist of multiple Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments spanning a total of two years. The duration of each TDY will be between 2 and 7 months, within each Prof. Chiu will serve as Program Officer at ONR. Arlington, VA. Each TDY will be followed by a required return to the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), the Permanent Duty Station (PDS), for a period of one month, where Prof. Chiu will carry out NPS duties including the conduct of ongoing multiyear reimbursable research and supervision of graduate students.
