Summary |
USTRANSCOM is in the midst of developing and implementing a single move-manager program to improve access to and management of household good moves for military personnel. The goal of this program is to create an operating model that would drive industry-standard quality for military families. This new model is designed to address several current problems including inadequate quality of movements during peak demands, diffused oversight, lack of accountability, lack of transparency, over-engineered business rules, cumbersome claims processes, and outdated IT systems. While the new model has been designed based on in-depth analysis, service collaboration, and conversations with Congress, several outspoken stakeholders are concerned with TRANSCOM?s move to this new system. Any organizational initiative of this scope should employ a strategic communication planning process to ensure that all major stakeholders are addressed throughout the process. While USTRANSCOM has been communicating to external stakeholders about the new household goods program, a more systematic approach could make the process more transparent and reduce negative impact that might be created by lack of information or misinformation. SCOPE OF WORK: This work addresses a 2-day executive education workshop to support TRANSCOM?s Global Household Goods Initiative. The goal of the workshop is to help selected TRANSCOM personnel mitigate program risk by conducting critical stakeholder analysis, identifying appropriate communication tools, and designing aligned messages for key stakeholders. |
