Summary |
Develop a Salvo Table that addresses mixed/combinations of air and surface SUW ordnance. Navy tactical guidance and publications for Surface Warfare (SuW) include Salvo Tables for common ordnance types (Harpoon, JSOW, Maverick, etc) against various threats which tell the tactical planner what level of effort is required for mission kills and total kills against defended surface targets. These tables are significantly limited, however, by not allowing for a mix of ordnance types and by assuming the enemy vessels are acting independently and not in mutual support. As the Navy proliferates new and advanced SUW ordnance types (SM-6, LRASM, Multi-Mission Tomahawk, etc), it is vital that tactical planners understand how they can be employed in combination by air and surface launching platforms in order to achieve the desired effects. This study would examine the feasibility of an Integrated Salvo Table tool that could help planners understand the most efficient ordnance packages to order, as constrained by availability and delivery method, against given threat packages |
