Back Vector Sensor Performance from Moored and Drifting Platforms

Summary The goals of this work are varied, but will focus on the assessment of acoustic vector sensor data collection from various platforms and subsequent processing results. Platforms to be utilized include autonomous buoy platforms (drifting or moored, self-recording, self-processing), while also investigating the performance of bottom-moored systems, including cabled observatories in Monterey Bay. Specific goals include effective demonstrations of data collection from multiple locations, investigations of standard and adaptive signal processing of acoustic vector sensor data for determining source direction (particularly for low SNR signals), and evaluation of data fusion from different platforms for source localization.
