Summary |
Work with the Sponsor POC and command SMEs to establish practical requirements for creating a formalized process to enhance the understanding and application of social ties by using current available technology within DoD. After requirements are agreed upon efforts will be made to identify: 1. Optimal command organizational structure to support the formalized process 2. Product output that will better develop the commander's understanding of the IE 3. The implications of using SNA through the DOTMLPF process This research will begin by identifying current SNA tools being used in the DoD as well as those being used in the Marine Corps. Efforts will then be made to identify how SNA can be made accessible and applicable to the MCIOC and how it can enhance the Corps' intelligence and targeting processes using existing technologically. Next, the research will examine the implications of using SNA through the DOTMLPF process. Final research efforts will be made to identify future SNA requirements and applications regarding the intelligence and targeting processes as they apply to the Information Environment. This research is intended to be a thesis or capstone project for an NPS student, with NPS faculty acting as the thesis advisor. Results of the research will be provided to the sponsored command along with an appropriate write up of results. |
