Summary	The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy Acquisition and Logistics Management (DASN (A&LM)) desires to have faculty and students at NPS engaged in acquisition research involving topics that are of importance to the DASN (A&LM), the Department of the Navy and DoD. The position of DASN (A&LM) was recently modified to include acquisition and logistics, in recognition of the close ties and interrelations between those two functions. DASN (A&LM) is sponsoring the Chair of Acquisition and the Acquisition Research Program positioned in the Graduate School of Business and Public Policy (GSBPP) under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by DASN (ACQ) and the President (NPS) 22 August 2006. The renewal of the 2006 MOU is underway.
